LAHORE, Feb 16 : Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif has urged the government to step up diplomatic efforts for the release of Pakistani neuroscientist Dr. Aafia Suddiqui.
Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif demanded this during a meeting with Dr. Aafia’s sister Dr.Fouzia who called him at his residence in Raiwind in Lahore on Tuesday.
Dr. Fouzia has thanked PML-N Chief for its principle stand and requested Nawaz Sharif to raise voice at every forum in future also.
Nawaz Sharif assured Dr. Fouzia that he will continue playing his role as a national duty for the release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui who is a Pakistan’s daughter.
He told Fouzia that he also asked the foreign delegations including US who called on him to free her sister immediately
During the meeting, Nawaz informed Dr Fouzia that he wrote a letter to Prime Minister Gilani in 2008 for the initiation of the legal process for Dr Aafia’s release.
Meanwhile, talking to media persons after meeting with Nawaz Sharif, Dr Fouzia said that she did not believe only assuredly of leadership until his sister Dr Aafia would not return to home.
She said that youth of country had come to road in protest for releasing his sister therefore she hoped that Dr Aafia must be released and return to home.
She said that Pakistan ambassador to US Hussain Huqqani could not face her family because he did not play good role in this regard.
