KARACHI, Feb 04 : The members of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Thursday ended boycott of the Sindh Assembly and attended the session after reconciliation with the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party and issues between MQM and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) were resolved through negotiations.
The lawmakers from both the parties hugged and greeted each other as the session begun with Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza in chair.
On the occasion, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, who was sent by the President Asif Ali Zardari as a troubleshooter, was also present in the gallery.
Talking to media before the session, parliamentary leader of MQM Syed Sardar Ahmad said issues have been settled down and MQM will attend the session with the spirit of reconciliation.
Deputy parliamentary leader MQM Faisal Sabzwari said coalition governments face differences but MQM is trying to resolve the differences.
He said “our party is pursuing policy of reconciliation and we have decided to resolve our differences with the PPP honestly.”
He said majority of issues regarding local bodies have been settled and the bill be presented soon in the assembly. Media has been barred from live coverage of the session at this occasion.
On the other hand, the Sindh Assembly management stopped the media from live coverage of the assembly proceeding.
