According to details, the blast occurred outside Jamia Masjid Imam Zeinul Aabideen which left five persons including a police official injured.
According to eye witnesses, immediately after the blast, firing was also heard that created harassment among the people. Police and rescue teams dashed to the site of the blast and started shifting the injured to District Headquarters Hospital and removed rubble from the scene. Police also cordoned off the entire areas and launched a search operation.
According to security agencies, the blast was result of hand grenade, which was lobbed by some unidentified miscreant towards the mosque.
The police, after registering the case against unknown assailants, started investigation into the incident.
