SC rejects petition of excluding Jam Yousuf, Nosherwani’s names from Bugti’s killing

ISLAMABAD, Jan 08 : The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) has rejected the appeal of former CM Balochistan, Jam Muhammad Yousuf and Home Minister Yousuf Nosherwani to exclude their names from FIR into Nawab Akbar Bugti’s murder.

A three member SC bench headed by Justice Nasirul Mulk and Justice Jawad S. Khawaja and Justice Shahid Saddiqi as the other members, Friday carried the hearing of Nawab Akbar Bugti’s murder cases.

Advocate Muhazzam Butt, Prosecutor to former CM and Home Minister Balochistan told the SC that names of his clients were included in FIR into Bugti’s murder along with names of former President Pervez Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz which should be excluded.

Earlier, District Court in its decision directed the authorities of including names of Jam Yousuf and Noshewani in FIR into Bugti’s murder against which petitioners moved to the High Court, however, the High Court retained the District Court’s decision and later they moved to SC to seek justice.

Advocate Muhazzam was of the view that operation against Nawab Akbar Bugti was carried out by the military and his clients had no connection with that operation, therefore, their names should be excluded from FIR into the Bugti’s murder incident.

However, the three-member bench of the SC, after hearing the petitioner’s lawyer view point, retained the High Court’s decision. INP
