ISLAMABAD, Jan 27: A Petition was field in the Supreme Court’s Lahore Registry on Wednesday seeking appointment of Khawaja Sharif as Supreme Court judge besides selection of Justice Saqib Nisar as Chief Justice LHC.
The federation, law ministry and registrar Supreme Court have been made party in the plea filed by Barrister Zafarullah.
The petitioner argued that as per the law, the senior most LHC judge is supposed to be elevated as an apex court judge thereby Justice Khawaja should be appointed as judge SC while Justice Saqib being the second most senior, be appointed as Chief Justice of the LHC.
