PML-N can take back some Musharraf’s era politicians in its fold: Ahsan Iqbal

KARACHI, Jan 05 : Pakistan Muslim League-N Spokesman Ahsan Iqbal has said that PML-N would not take back those politicians who supported a dictator, however some of the such figures could be taken back in the party fold.

Talking to media persons on Tuesday at Karachi airport after PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif arrival from Quetta , Ahsan Iqbal said that the PML-N had always opposed militancy in the country.

He said that Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Karachi was very important which would help revamp the party in the Sindh, adding that Nawaz Sharif was very happy for coming in Karachi .

He said that the people of Sindh have started reorganizing the party across the province.

Ahsan Iqbal said that Nawaz Sharif’s purpose for visiting Karachi is to share grief and sorrow of the victims of Karachi riots, and added that during his two day visit to the city, the PML-N chief would also visit hospitals for inquiring about health of victims of Karachi blast and those whose shops were set on fire in Bolton Market

Nawaz Sharif would express his condolence with the victims of markets, he said.

Ahsan Iqbal welcomed former Governor of Balochistan Abdul Qadir Baloch and President BNP(Awami) Sardar Sanaullah Zehri for joining PML-N. He said that after their joining, the PML-N would become more active in Balochistan.

To a question that PML-N was against military Generals and now a former General joined the party, he said that Gen Qadir Baloch opposed former dictator General Musharraf by demonstrating his good character.

“Gen Qadir Baloch opposed Gen Musharraf by showing his character and due to it, he was punished by Musharraf, but he resigned. His case is still under trial”, Ahsan Iqbal said.

The PML-N Spokesman said that his party was doing politics of ideologies.

“We are doing politics of ideologies and according to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to make Pakistan stronger and democratic where rights of all the people should be ensured on equal basis”, he maintained.

He said that democracy cannot be strengthened and flourished without implementation of Charter of Democracy in letter and sprit. INP
