ISLAMABAD: Former chairman Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and PPP stalwart Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan called on President Asif Ali Zardari here Friday.
The two leaders discussed overall political situation of the country in their meeting held in the backdrop of issuance of Supreme Court of Pakistan’s detail verdict regarding the legality of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).
The discussion mainly focused Supreme Court’s verdict and its aftermaths for the government and the President.
Earlier, talking to newsmen outside Supreme Court building, Ahsan said the government is bound to obey the NRO verdict by Larger Bench of the apex court.
However, he was of the view that an order for freeze of assets of NRO-tainted persons can not be extracted from Supreme Court’s judgment.
Ahsan said he is in support of the idea that former President Parvez Musharraf be tried in the court for his wrongdoings.
