Ten target killers, four extortionists nabbed: Malik

KARACHI: Interior Minister, A. Rehman Malik has said that 14 accused including 10 target killers and four extortionists have been arrested from different parts of Karachi, during the last 24 hours.

He was talking to media at National Crisis Management Cell (NCMC), here on Tuesday.

Rehman Malik directed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Wajid Ali Durrani to disclose the names of the arrested accused through a Press Note. He said indiscriminate action would be taken against the miscreants and terrorists across the board in light of the directives of Prime Minister, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.

He also appealed to the media to provide leads about the criminal elements and cooperate with the authorities.

The Minister recalled that he held a meeting with Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Sindh Home Minister, Manzoor Hussain Wassan earlier today and reviewed the action which has been taken against the criminals.

He said Karachi is a mega city and crimes can occur here but these incidents should not be portrayed in a wrong way.
