Karachi killings, a conspiracy against govt: Malik

Karachi : Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that there was no ‘no go area’ in Karachi.

He was talking to media after a meeting with Acting Director General, Pakistan Rangers Sindh, Brig. Zafar Iqbal, at the National Disaster Management Cell, Camp Office, here on Monday.

He said that there was need to deweaponise the city and a campaign in this regard will be launched soon.

Rehman Malik said all conspiracies to destabilise the country will be foiled and action was being taken against anti-state elements.

“Killings in Karachi are part of the conspiracy against the government,” he maintained.

The Minister said that protection to life and property of people was prime responsibility of the government and restoration of peace was priority of the government.

Earlier, the Minister discussed the prevailing law and order situation in Karachi with Acting DG Rangers and measures being taken in this regard.
