15 killed; Landhi search operation ends without single arrest

Karachi :Search operation in Landhi ended without any arrest, though 15 people were killed during day.

Police started search operation in Landhi area after a number of people were killed in target attacks on Saturday. The late night toll topped 15.

According to police sources, it has not been decided that door to door search operation will be conducted or the area will be monitored through pickets.

On the other hand, different political and religious parties have held peace rallies, while Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani is also present in the city, but no improvement has been observed in the law and order situation.

One Omair, 14 was critically injured being caught in armed clash between two groups in Landhi. A police official and Omair succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital. After the incident, heavy contingent of police and rangers have been called in the area to control the situation.

Two persons died when some unknown persons opened fire on a van on Pak Colony Bismullah bus stop. Both the victims were real brothers and were transporters. One Gul Shah died during the firing by some unidentified persons in Landhi.

Bodies of two persons who were tortured to death were found near Malir Stream Bund. Unknown persons shot dead head constable Abdul Rahim.

Some unknown persons threw away dead body of a kidnapped youth from moving train near Dhobi Ghat Garden Medical centre and escaped.

One car rider Ghulam Rabbani was killed when his car was fired upon near Safora Goth in Gulistan Jauhar. A 30-year-old Asif was killed near Godhra Medical Centre when he was caught in the intense firing between two groups.
