ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Thursday approved the Presidential reference for hearing.
The President had sent the reference to the apex court for revisiting the case of hanging of the late prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
President's counsel Babar Awan presented the questions of law relating to the reference filed by the president under Article 186 of the constitution, before the court.
The court approved the reference for hearing. The court nominated 10 amici curiae (friends of the court) to assist a larger bench that will hear the case. Renowned lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan has been named among the 10 amici curiae.
The court later adjourned hearing of the reference till May 02.
