Punjab Govt failed to resolve people's problems: Pervez Elahi

LAHORE, April 7 : Former Chief Minister and central leader of PML-Q Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has alleged that Punjab Government has failed in resolving the problems of the people and instead wasted billions of rupees on Tandoors (Sasti Roti) and Ramzan Bazars to gain cheap publicity.

Talking to media after meeting MQM delegation headed by Dr Farooq Sattar, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said the crime rate in Punjab has increased by fifty percent. He said issue of doctors has been mishandled while the financial surpluses left by his government have been wasted in the name of Sasti Roti and Ramazan Bazars. He said in the present situation it has become difficult for the people to survive in the face of massive price hike.

He said instead of talking of mid-term elections, the PML-N should hold local governments elections first and then it could talk of general elections.

Ch Pervez Elahi said the MQM has emerged as a viable political party in Punjkab and the PML-Q would fully participate in the public meeting being held by the MQM in Lahore on 10th April.

Dr Farooq Sattar in his remarks said that people would get significant relief in the prices of pOL products soon. He said people were not getting any benefits from democracy as extortionist were enjoying a free hand in Karachi.

Dr Farooq Sattar said that kidnapping for ransom and target killings are on the rise and peace in Karachi is being destroyed. He said Pakistan cannot make progress due t corruption and non judicious taxation system.

The MQM leader urged the Government to hold local government elections. He also demanded the Punjab Government to resolve the problems of its people.
