Peshawar: Strong contingent of 50 FC personnel deployed for security of Fazl ur Rehman

PESHAWAR, April 05 : Interior Ministry on Tuesday deployed a strong contingent comprising 50 Frontiers Constabulary (FC) personnel for the security of the JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur-Rehman after he escaped in last week double suicide attacks and advised him to suspend political
activities for few days.

Sources said security of Maulana Fazalur Rehman has been enhanced by replacing the Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa police with the FC strong contingent of FC personnel after Maulana escaped two suicide attacks at his conveys occurred in Swabi on 30 March and in Charsadda on 31 March when he about to address two separate public gatherings.

The Ministry also directed Maulana Fazlur Rehman to suspend his political activities and stay at home for the next few days. Close aides of Maulana have also advised him to avoid attending any public gathering due to high risk to his life.

Activities of JUI-F had strongly protests against the suicide attacks at their leader and failure of the government to provide enough security to him. The protesters had warned that the government would be responsible of any eventuality if harm is caused to their leader due to lack of adequate security arrangements.
