Karachi: 5 killed in Navy bus attack

KARACHI: Another bus carrying Pakistan Navy's staff was targeted in Karachi on Thursday, in which five persons were killed and 18 others were injured.

It was the third bus of Pakistan Navy attacked in Karachi in as many days.

Four Sailors of the Navy were killed and seven injured in the attack, said Commander Salman, a spokesman of Pakistan Navy.

A passerby Naveed was also killed in the attack.

Same gang of criminals has been involved in attacks on the buses of Pakistan Navy, SSP SIU Raja Umar Khattab said.

A bus carrying 11 members of Pakistan Navy staff left PNS Mehran at 8:15 in the morning was hit by a roadside bomb device. According to eyewitnesses the blast jolted nearby buildings, shattered windowpanes and damaged a petrol pump.

Police has cordoned off the spot of the explosion.

The blast in busy area of the city caused traffic-jam at the adjacent roads as Karsaz Road was closed for traffic after the blast.
