Pakistanis in Japan safe, embassy and volunteer teams sent to Sendai with relief supplies for Pakistanis

ISLAMABAD, March 15 : Pakistani nationals in worst earthquake and Tsunami hit Japan are safe and there is no report of any death or injury to any of them, said foreign office spokesperson Tehmina Janjua here on Tuesday.

In a statement she said Pakistani Embassy in Tokyo was in touch with about 200 Pakistanis in North Eastern Japan which was badly hit by the Tsunami. She said some of the Pakistanis there were in constant touch with Pakistani embassy in Tokyo and have informed it that they were safe.

The spokesperson said that an Embassy team has left for Sendai, Aiwati and Fokoshuma where these Pakistanis are residing to provide them relief items and to have an on the spot assessment of the situation.

She said another volunteer's team comprising members of Pakistani community has already reached Sendai with food and other relief items
