Masses must help in restoration of law and order: Qaim Ali Shah

KARACHI, March 23 : Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that not only law enforcement agencies and government but people were also equally responsible in ensuring peace and establishment of rule of law in the country.

The Chief Minister was talking to media persons at the premises of Mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on occasion of 23, March, the Pakistan Day. Earlier Qaim Ali Shah laid floral wreath at grave of Quaid-e-Azam and offered Fateha for the departed soul.

He paid rich tribute to the father of the nation under whose leadership Muslims of sub-continent succeeded to get a separate homeland for them where they could practice their lives in accordance with their religion and Islamic norms.

Qaim Ali Shah said that our national poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal dreamed a separate homeland for Muslims of sub-continent and our great leader Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and his companions materialized it on August 14, 1947.

Qaim Ali Shah said that by following Quaid-e-Azam's glorious words of Unity, Faith and Discipline we can overcome the prevailing crises and ensure peace and stability in the country.

Commenting over the prevailing political situation, the Sindh Chief Minister said that President Asif Ali Zardari is following the policy of political reconciliation and wanted to take all the stake holders along in the larger interests of the country.

He said that political leadership should realize its responsibility and give up the blame game and joint hands for the wellbeing of the masses. Qaim Ali Shah said that being citizens of Pakistan and elected representatives of masses we all should unite on national issues by sinking the personal and party differences for national causes.

The Chief Minister said that long struggle of our predecessor was aimed at laying foundation of a country which can give protection to basic rights to every citizen, where democratic system could be strengthened and people practice their religion without any interruption.

Talking about the Karachi violence, he said that there were many factors including linguistic and secretarian clashes behind the target killing and lawlessness in the city. However, PPP led provincial and federal governments were taking solid steps to overcome the situation and we hope improvement shortly. He said it is also responsibility of the citizens to cooperate with the law enforcement agencies to foil the nefarious designs of enemy of the country.
