KARACHI: Police say two suspected militant died Saturday in a blast at their home in the locality of Karachi.
Senior police Tanveer Alam says at least two persons were also wounded when the blast ripped through the house near a mosque in fishing community of Ibrahim Hyderi in Karachi outskirts.
The house was collapsed in the blast. Rescue teams rushed to the site while police cordoned off the area for the search of other suspects.
The injured were shifted to Jinnah hospital where one of them is said to be critical.
Tanveer Alam said the victims, who lived in the rented house, were apparently handling explosives at the time. “They were preparing bombs there for a possible terrorist plot in the city”.
Alam gave no further details and identity of the men was not immediately known. He, however, said four suspected terrorist had been arrested from the locality following the blast.
