Karachi: Law and order situation in Balochistan not ideal: IG Police

KARACHI, March 14 : Inspector General of Police Balochistan, Malik Mohammad Iqbal said on Monday that the law and order situation in Balochistan was not ideal and reporting it as 'alright' would be unjust.

Speaking to the media Iqbal said, "Unfortunately abductions for ransom in the province have increased in numbers."

In recent events the criminals had not only abducted judges but also senior government officials, lawyers and elderly women.

"To deal with this situation it is important to start a proper campaign against such criminals," he added.

He also said that the police were making efforts day and night to deal with the situation and they had been equipped with modern weapons and equipment. "Because of these initiatives we had started seeing some results" the IG remarked.
