GB Public Accounts Committee Chairman threatens to explode the House an Independent Member in Assembly was not made Minister

ILGIT, March 10 : Chairman of Public Accounts Committee in Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Syed Raziuddin Rizvi has threatened to blast the House if commitments made to Independent members by the former Governor and Chief Minister were not honored.

Speaking on a point of order in the GB Assembly here on Thursday, Syed Raziuddin Rizvi said that the Independent members were promised that one of them would be made Provincial Minister. However after the election of the Chief Minister, Speaker and Deputy Speaker, the Government has changed its stance.

The threat of blast by the Chairman of Public Accounts Committee caused scare in the House. He warned that only dead bodies of the PPP members would go out of the House as the PPP has continued its tradition of violation of agreements. He pressed for making one member of the Independent Group as Cabinet Minister otherwise he threatened to create a situation, when the PPP members would not be able to show their faces to the people.

He warned that if an independent member was not made Minister he would not allow the holding of next session of the GB Assembly.

Another independent member Deedar Ali speaking in the house said that they have been befooled and an injustice has been done to them.

Opposition PML-N member Haji Janbaz also supported the view point of the Independent members and demanded that the PPP must fulfill its promise.

Chief Minister Syed Mehdi Shah and some GB Ministers were also present in the house when the Independent members created the chaotic situation.

The Deputy Speaker realizing the tense situation, adjourned the sitting for an indefinite period.

Later talking to INP in the Assembly building Chief Minister Syed Mehdi Shah said the promise of Ministership was made by former Governor Qamar Zaman Kaira and not by him. He regretted the threat for blasting the assembly.

He said they would be able to resolve the issue through dialogue and rejected the threat by Syed Raziuddin Rizvi saying this was not a solution to the problem.
