LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday rejected the bail plea of Moonis Elahi, in NICL case.
A two-member bench of LHC headed by Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry heard the bail plea of Moonis Elahi, one of the accused in the National Insurance Corporation Limited (NICL) scam. The Additional Director General of FIA Zafar Qureshi requested the court for time to recover Rs320 million from Elahi which he had allegedly embezzled in the scam.
The court granted FIA custody of the PML-Q leader.
S.M. Zafar, the counsel of Moonis Elahi outside the court said that false allegations were being levelled against his client. He said the FIA victimizing his client on political grounds.
