13 killed in Faisalabad blast

FAISALABAD: At least 13 persons were killed and scores injured in an explosion at a CNG station in the industrial city of Faisalabad.

Commissioner Faisalabad Tahir Hussain has confirmed 13 deaths in deadly explosion.

RPO Aftab Cheema said the blast most likely happened in a vehicle parked at the CNG station, however investigations underway to determine the nature of the blast.

Police have arrested a suspect and transferred him to an undisclosed location. According to police sources a bomb device has been found from the possession of suspect.

According to Rescue 1122 relief service sources the injured being transferred to Civil Hospital and other medical facilities in Faisalabad.

The explosion also damaged the building of the CNG station and nearby office of national airlines was also collapsed and rooftops of several buildings went down. Several vehicles parked in the area were also damaged in huge blast.

Security forces have cordoned off an area of two kilometer radius and relief and rescue work has been in progress.
