12 KG Heroine recovered from car damaged in accident in RYK

RAHIMYAR KHAN, March 18 : One man was killed and two others injured in head-on collision between two cars here on Friday. Police recovered large quantity of drugs from the chambers of car destroyed in the accident.

According to ASP Khanpur Shiraz Nazir, a Karachi bound car coming from Peshawar collided head-on with another car coming from opposite direction at National Highway in tehsil Khanpur.

One person identified as Shafqat, a resident of Rahimyar Khan was killed in the accident and two others sustained injuries. The body and injured were shifted to hospital for medico legal requirements.

Police during rescue operation recovered 12 kilograms of heroin and seven kg opium hidden in the chambers of the car. The police took the recovered drugs into its custody and arrested the driver of the car while his accomplice managed to flee.

The police said that drugs were being smuggled to Karachi from where these were to be smuggled out to foreign countries.
