NOWSHERA: At least 10 persons were killed and scores injured in an explosion at a mosque in Akhund Panji Baba area of Nowshera on Friday.
According to initial reports, a bomb went off when meals were being distributed among people at the mosque after Friday prayers.
A remote-controlled bomb device was kept in a cupboard of the mosque, sources said.
The injured being transferred to hospitals. Most of the injured persons have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital of Peshawar.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and collecting evidence.
The blast also damaged the building of the mosque.
