Nawaz announces parting of ways with PPP

ISLAMABAD: Muslim League (N)leader Mian Nawaz Sharif Friday parted ways with Pakistan People's Party in Punjab announcing to expel its ministers from the provincial cabinet.

Addressing a press conference after a party meeting announced the PML-N decision.

Earlier, a majority of the party members who attended the party’s meeting on Friday recommended that the alliance with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in Punjab should be broken.

Nawaz Sharif said that his party cooperated with the government for the sake of democracy but the government betrayed it.

The government broken promises within a month and deferred restoration of the judiciary, Nawaz Sharif said.

Friday’s meeting came after detailed talks on Thursday between Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
