KARACHI, Dec 18 : Senior Provincial Minister Sindh Pir Mazharul Haq has said that reply to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) ultimatum will be responded at right time, while Sindh Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza said that behavior of coalition partner was better on Ashura day. However he said he would standby his earlier statements as well.

Addressing a joint press conference here at Bilawal House, Pir Mazharul Haq said that MQM leaders were their brothers and there could be difference of opinion amongst brothers.

Mazharul Haq said that the unity can help throw out the militancy from the country and peace can be restored.

Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfikar Mirza said "I stand by my statement which he made earlier" and added that he has conveyed the message regarding the arrest of target killers and their affiliation with a major political party of Karachi to the higher leadership. Zulfiqar Mirza said that MQM yesterday's behavior was quite better.

Zufiqar Mirza thanked all the political and religious parties for their cooperation during the day of Ashura and also lauded the role of the MQM in extending help to maintain peace during Ashura.

Meanwhile, MQM in its reaction said that the explanation of Zulfiqar Mirza's statement would be sought from the federal government and not from provincial government.

The clash between the two coalition partners, the PPP and the MQM, emerged when Zulifqar Mirza during his speech held the MQM responsible for violence in Karachi.
