President felicitates Parliament on passage of 19th Amendment

ISLAMABAD, Dec 22 : President Asif Ali Zardari has felicitated the Parliament on the passage of the Constitution's 19th Amendment Bill today and said that the smooth passage of the Bill in the light of Supreme Court observations had belied those who talked of a clash of institutions.

Spokesperson to President Farhatullah Babar said that in a message from Istanbul the President also felicitated Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and members of the Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional Reforms, The President also felicitated all political parties and their leaders for showing maturing, wisdom and far sightedness in passing the Bill, he said.

The President said that the passage of the Bill will further strengthen democracy and its vital institutions.
