PM assures CMs rehabilitation of flood affectees

ISLAMABAD, Dec 01: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani hasreiterated the resolve of the Government to take all the necessary steps forcomplete rehabilitation of flood affectees and the reconstruction of damagedinfrastructure. He expressed his satisfaction over the completion of firstphase of rescue and relief.

The Prime Minister was talking to Chief Minister Punjab, Mian ShahbazSharif, Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Chief Minister KhyberPukhtoonkhwa, Amir Haider Khan Hoti and Chief Minister Balochistan, NawabAslam Raeesani who called on him at Prime Minister's Secretariat prior tomeeting of the Implementation Commission Wednesday.
The Prime Minister asked the Chief Ministers to enhance the rehabilitationactivities and also ensure the transparency in distribution of Watan Cardsand first tranche of Rs. 20,000 to all the flood affectees in theirrespective provinces. The Prime Minister further said that the FederalGovernment will pay the second tranche of the remaining amount to theaffectees, after the completion of the Watan Cards distribution.
The Chief Ministers apprised the Prime Minister of the status of therehabilitation activities in the flood ravaged areas and progress of thedistribution of the Watan Cards among the flood affectees. They also thankedthe Prime Minister for his keen interest in the rehabilitation andreconstruction of the affected areas.
