Nawaz flays Shahzain Bugti’s arrest

MURREE, Dec 25 : Former Prime Minister and Chief of PML-N Nawaz Sharif on Saturday lambasted the arrest of Shahzain Bugti, leader of Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) and demanded of the government to extend hand of friendship towards Baloch brothers instead of incriminating them in fake cases of terrorism.

Talking to media person here at Murree, Nawaz reminded that he had been implicated in a fake case hijacking an airplane by former General Musharraf.

He asked that if any illegal action was committed by Shahzain Bugti then the civil administration should be given the task of investigating the case.

“Instead of labeling a faithful Pakistanis as terrorist and implicating him under charges of terrorism the government should first thoroughly investigate whether person under question was really a terrorist or not,” Nawaz said adding that it was beyond comprehension why the government was treating so to Balochs as this would force them to fall into terrorists hands.

The PML-N Quaid said that he has urged President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani to review the strategy of dealing people of Balochistan and refrain from creating further problems for the fragile province.

Meanwhile, Chief of JWT Talal Akbar Bugti, during a talk show in private TV channel came out with sarcastic remarks blamed Interior Minister Rehman A.Malik as ‘Raw Agent’ and said that interior ministry was engaged in extorting money from the people in connivance with Frontier Constabulary (FC) deputed at check-posts and giving its share to the Aiwan-e-Sadar.

Talal Bughtti urged the head of the armed forces to investigate the incident leading to Shahzain’s arrest and also take action against the FC command for implicating Shahzain in fake case of illegal weapons. He blamed that three vehicles loaded with illegal weapons which joined the convoy of Shahzain Bughtti were actually belonging to intelligence agencies.

“Chief Minister Balochistan Aslam Raisani said that there are two parallel governments running in Balochistan, one is the civil government and the second is FC,” Talal said and added that CM Balochistan informed him that FC was pressurizing him in certain matters.

Talal further said that weapons smuggling into Balochistan was not something new as it has become every day affair “Smuggling of weapons and their shifting from one place to another is not a new phenomenon in Balochistan as it was become a joint venture of
officials and smugglers” Talal blamed.
