ISLAMABAD, Dec 21: President Azad Jammu and Kashmir has approved establishment of Kashmir Research and Study Council at Jammu and Kashmir Cell, Muzaffarabad and Rawalpindi.
According to a notification issued on Tuesday, the AJK President announced establishment of KRSC and appointed historian and research scholar Syed Bashir Hussain Jafri as its chairman.
Rashid Malik, Hafiz Muhammad Yaqoob Hashmi, Prof Dr Muhammand Sarwar Abbasi, Prof Abdul Razzaq Mughal and Raja Muhammad Sajad Khan are appointed as members of the council.
KRSC is mandated to record, and take care of the socio-political, ideological and religious historical events of the state of AJK from the period before the partition of the sub-continent.
The council will prepare and publish books, literature, audio-video and CDs on the life of the luminaries of the state.
