Govt decides to withdraw amended NAB law

ISLAMABAD: Federal government has decided to withdraw the National Accountability Bureau Ordinance.

Attorney General Moulvi Anwar-ul-Haq informed the court Thursday that the government has decided to withdraw the ordinance, which was released for amendment in the NAB law. He said the decision rendered the petition against the ordinance as ineffective.

Petitioner Syed Zafar Ali Shah said the withdrawal could not make the ordinance ineffective as release of an ordinance without the advice of the Prime Minister is violation of the constitution and the government has committed the offence.

The court directed the Attorney General to submit his reply and to produce the notification for withdrawal of the ordinance in the court on December 07.
