Fazl wants PPP to nominate new PM

ISLAMABAD: Describing Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza a ‘threat to democracy’, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman Tuesday urged Pakistan Peoples Party leadership to take action against the PM and appoint a new one for the office.

“Prime Minister Gilani has violated PPP’s reconciliation policy and his actions have caused political instability in the country,” Rehman told reporters here.

He called upon President Asif Ali Zardari to take action against his premier. “The government is under pressure, the process of democracy could be derailed therefore the president will have to take this step.”

He also demanded resignation of PM Gilani, saying that PPP should appoint a new Prime Minister.
