Faisalabad industries continue to suffer from gas cut despite PM’s orders for two day closure

FAISALABAD, Dec 25 : Prolonged and unscheduled cut of gas supply to industrial units and CNG stations multiplied the miseries and sufferings of daily wagers and commuters.

It should be mentioned that for last few months like other cities of the country, Faisalabad, an Industrial hub, especially handloom and textile industry has been suffering due to gas and electricity load shedding.

Earlier Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) authorities and industrialists repeatedly held meeting to resolve the issue. The SNGPL authorities after detailed consultations with industrialists announced two day gas cut for industries under gas load management.

However, despite assurances and directives of the Prime Minister, SNGPL is not following the gas load management schedule and gas supply for industries is being blocked for four consecutive days.

According to figures supplied by labour associations due to closure of industries more that 700,000 daily wagers and workers have been rendered jobless.

Besides, industrialists suffered huge financial losses worth million of rupees as they failed to deliver their orders on time due to gas load shedding.
