29 offenders held in Karachi operation

KARACHI, Dec 29 : Police have arrested 29 alleged criminals during separate raids overnight in the jurisdiction of 13 police stations of South Zone, Karachi, DIG said Wednesday.

According to DIG South Zone Iqbal Mehmood, police conducted raids in the jurisdiction of 13 police stations of South Zone and arrested 29 accused including criminals, robbers and drugs traffickers.

Police have also recovered arms, snatched mobile phones, stolen vehicles, dozens of bottles of branded liquor and others looted valuables from the possession of the detainees.

The operation came hours after Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah and Interior Minister Rehman Malik chaired a high-level meeting on security and directed police to take strict action against robbers and street criminals.

Separate cases have been registered against the detained culprits at concerned police stations and investigations were underway.
