Besides providing funding aid to the Afghan agriculture ministry, around 60 agricultural advisors have been sent by US to help agriculture ministry make plans, strategies and train Afghan farmers, said a top official in a joint Afghan-US agricultural conference.
The ministry said US agricultural advisors and experts provide technical training to Afghan farmers in different parts of the country.
Agricultural projects which were backed by Kabul International Conference cost nearly 4 billion dollars to be implemented and donor countries have only pledged one billion of the money needed for the projects.
The Afghan Minister of Agriculture said: "commitments made in Kabul and London should be pursued in Afghanistan. Today's conference is about the same issue."
The United States of America understood the joint Afghan-US agricultural conference fruitful to agriculture in Afghanistan.
"The United States is here both with sixty agricultural advisors that are based throughout the country of Afghanistan, As well as a delegation from Washington including myself," said a Delegate from Washington. "We are here to show our support to Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock."
The US Ambassador to Afghanistan, Karl Eikenberry who was also one of the participants in the meeting said: "United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is providing advisors to minister Rahimi and these advisors support the minister from inside of his ministry inside of MAILS and strengthen MAILS' capacity to improve agriculture."
