PESHAWAR, Nov 28: The District Administration Peshawar on Saturday seized some 4000 sacks of sugar illegally dumped in a godown during ongoing drive against the hoarders.
According to details, DCO Peshawar jointly with officials of Food Department and Police Station Gulbahar raided a godown in Nishtar Abad area of the city and recovered 4000 sacks of sugar illegally hoarded there. Police also arrested a person on the spot.
Talking to media person, DCO Peshawar Siraj Ahmad said, "we have raided a godown and seized 3500-4000 sacks of sugar hoarded there. The sugar was sent by the TCP for the flood affected people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa".
He said they have also arrested a man in this connection and a case would be filed in the court against him under 3 MPO.
He said it was great excess with the poor flood victims who were living in remote areas of the district in cold weather. He said the government would spare no efforts to provide relief to the flood hit people and strict action would be taken against the hoarders, who dump goods meant for the flood affectees.
