ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry has summoned the Secretary of Law in court for explanation over the implementation of the NRO verdict of the Supreme Court.
The Chief Justice also ordered for immediately sending the summary of NRO case to the Prime Minister.
The court was hearing the case about appointment of Adnan Khwaja as chairman of the OGDCL on Tuesday.
The chief justice during the hearing asked the Attorney General that why the NRO verdict is not being implemented when there is no stay order against the court decision. He said the judgment should be enforced as per the spirit of the decision.
He questioned how Adnan Khwaja can be appointed on the post when he has been convicted.
Attorney General Moulvi Anwar-ul-Haq informed the court that the Establishment Division had issued the orders and he was unaware about his conviction,otherwise, he wouldnt have appointed on the post.
The Chief Justice also said that the steps taken by the Deputy Chairman of NAB Javed Zia Qazi have been unlawful and he will be responsible for his decision.
