ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 : Finance Minister Dr Hafeez Sheikh has said there is no financial emergency and there is no move under consideration to declare it in the country.
Talking to media persons here Thursday Sheikh however conceded that after the floods, the country has a difficult economic situation. However he said that solutions of the economic challenges are being found by the government. These include an end to wasteful expenditure, mobilizing resources and public-private partnership in certain projects like construction of roads.
In reply to a question, the Finance Minister said the Government is in the process of mobilizing international community to extend a helping hand to Pakistan in this difficult situation.
He referred to the tariff concessions given by the EU to Pakistan and described it a positive development. He said the access to European Markets would help increase our exports and thus bring in more resources.
