Senate sends budget proposals to NA

ISLAMABAD: The Senate Wednesday unanimously passed recommendations of the standing committee for economic affairs over budget. Senate Chairman has dispatched 72 recommendations of the standing committee to the National Assembly. The recommendations call for 60 percent raise in salaries of Grade 18 government employees and suggest fixation of minimum wages at Rs 9000 instead of 7000 rupees. Speaking in the upper house Senator Raza Rabbani said the gulf between rich and poor has widen in the country and warned of revolution in the country if the gravity of the situation not realized."The ruling elite has not been aware of the revolution in streets," he said.
