PPP to clean sweep Punjab in next elections: Babar Awan

MULTAN, June 18 : Federal Law Minister Babar Awan has said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will clean sweep Punjab in the next general elections.

Talking to media here on Friday, Babar Awan said had Shaheed Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto completed her Punjab election campaign in the last general elections, there would have been major upsets and many big names would have lost their elections

Replying to a question, the Law Minister said the nation is waiting for the return of PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif in the National Assembly. He said if Mian Nawaz Sharif decided to contest election, the PPP would not pit its candidate against him. He said the return of Mian Nawaz Sharif to the National Assembly would further strengthen Parliament and give stability to democracy

To another question, the Law Minister said the Government examines the Supreme Court verdicts in accordance with the law of the land and implements.

Babar Awan said Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state and fully capable to preserve and secure its nuclear deterrence. He categorically stated that there should be no doubt in any body’s mind about the security of our nuclear weapons because Pakistan is fully aware of its responsibilities as a nuclear state.
