Minimum workers wages raise from 6000 to 7000

ISLAMABAD, June 05 : The minimum wages of the workers has been raised from Rs. 6000 to Rs. 7000 in the federal budget 2010-11 announced on Saturday.

Announcing the federal budget in the National Assembly Federal finance minister Dr. Abdul Hafiz Sheikh said that to ensure its implementation, it has been made mandatory for the employer to make salary payments to the workers through banks.

Similarly he said dowry grant for daughters of workers has been enhanced to Rs. 70,000 and the facility would be available for all the daughters instead of two as was the previous policy

He further said that the wage threshold for receiving social security benefits by the workers has been raised to Rs. 1000.
