Women among five killed, 23 hurt in road mishap

MANSHERA, May 19 : Two women were among five passengers killed and 23 others received injuries when a passenger bus fell into a deep ravine here at tehsil Allai on Wednesday, local sources said.

Sources said that a passenger bus going to Tandwal from Battagram fell into a deep ditch at tehsil Allai, killing five passengers including two women on the spot, while 23 others sustained injuries.

Locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured and the dead bodies to Distrcit Hospital Battagram. Hospital sources feared the death toll may rise, as most of the injured were in critical condition.

Witnesses said the bus was over speeded and the driver could not control it while negotiating a sharp turn and it fell into some 300 feet deep ravine.
