OGRA reduces oil and diesel prices

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Monday reduced prices of the products by 1 to 8 per cent, with immediate effect.

The reduction in oil prices was announced at a news conference by Syed Jawad Naseem, a spokesman for the authority.

According to the announcement, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs6.4 to Rs69.04 from Rs75.8 per litre, and that of High Octane Blending Component (HOBC) has come down to Rs82.04 from Rs89.19 per litre, down by Rs7.15 per litre.

Likewise, the ex-depot sale price of kerosene oil has been cut by Rs3.40 per litre while that of light diesel oil has been slashed by Rs1.8 per litre.

The OGRA reduced high-speed diesel price to Rs75.72 per litre from Rs76.08, a reduction of Rs1.08.

The JP-1, JP-4 and JP-8 have been cut by Rs3.10, Rs2.91, Rs3.11, respectively.

The new prices would be effective from June 1, 2010.
