ISLAMABAD, May 25 : The National Assembly Standing Committee on Education has sent the degrees of 873 members to Higher Education Commission for scrutiny.
The committee's meeting presided over by Chairman Abid Sher Ali was held at the HEC here on Tuesday.
Election Commission Secretary Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan briefed the attendees of the meeting about the fake degrees of Parliamentarians, and said that 70 such cases are being heard in the courts.
He said that the decision for 24 of them has been taken while 46 await verdict.
HEC confirmed that the degree of PML-N Provincial Assembly member from Faisalabad Khawaja Mohammad Islam's degree is faked.
