HAFIZABAD, Mar 11: Three persons killed and nine others injured in various incidents in different areas of Hafizabad on Thursday.
According to police in Dhengaranwali area some unidentified assailants opened fire at Yasir killing him on the spot. The deceased was stated to a labourer in local mill and was returning back to home after duty riding bicycle.
Two friends identified as Qamar and Asif were killed when their motorcycle collided with another motorcycle in Dohatta area of Hafizabad. Ansar who was also among the two killed persons sustained critical injuries. The bodies and injured were shifted to local hospital where injured Ansar was referred to Lahore due to critical wounds.
In Sago area of Hafizabad eight persons sustained injured in clash between two opponent groups. According to police the two groups who were in enmity over different disputes first exchanged harsh words and later the clash turned violent. Both sides used batons and pelted stones at each injuring eight persons from both sides.
The injured were shifted to district headquarter hospital. The enraged heirs of the injured physically tortured the employees of emergency ward. They also broke the glass panes of the wards and torn off the hospital record.
The police registering separate cases in all incidents have initiated the investigations.
