Naek for exploiting great scope for boosting Pak-Yemen parliamentary, trade links

ISLAMABAD, March 16 : Chairman Senate, Farooq H. Naek has stressed the need for frequent Parliamentary exchanges between two brotherly countries Pakistan and Yemen.
He made these observations while talking to Mr. H. E. Mr. Abdo Ali Abdul Rahman, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Yemen who called on him at Parliament House Tuesday.
It is pertinent to note that Yemen, like Pakistan, has bicameral Parliament and Shoora Council of Yemen and the Senate of Pakistan had signed a protocol on mutual cooperation during the visit of the Speaker of the Shoora Council Mr. AbdulAziz AbdulGhani to Pakistan in 2004.
This protocol stipulates the establishment of friendship group in each House to promote cooperation, exchange of visits, documents and periodicals, organizing joint forums, and consultation and coordination on International Organizations and Conferences.
Yemeni Ambassador extended invitation from Yemeni Speaker of Shoora Council Mr. AbdulAziz AbdulGhani to the Chairman Senate to visit Yemeni Shoora Council. Mr. Farooq H. Naek thanked the Speaker of Shoora Council for his invitation and said that he would love to visit the Shoora of the brotherly Islamic country at the time of mutual convenience.
Chairman Senate also underscored the need of further strengthening already good relations between the two brotherly countries in various fields for the mutual benefit of the people of Pakistan and Yemen.
It may be noted that Pakistan and Yemen have Joint Ministerial Commission to enhance cooperation in various fields such as energy, education, science and technology, banking, transport, labour and manpower and share their expertise and know how for the benefit of their people.
