RAWALPINDI, Mar 13: Law enforcement agencies have arrested at least 95 suspected people during search operation in Pir Wadhai and adjacent areas on Saturday.
According to SSP Operations Yasin Farooq, police launched a door to door search operation in Pir Wadhai, Fauji Colony and adjacent areas in Rawalpindi on Saturday, where some 95 people have been taken into custody.
He said the search operation was launched after a security high alert has been issued in the city in view of serial blasts in Lahore.
He said the search operation was conducted jointly by police, Elite Force and lady police. The SSP said Afghan nationals were also among the arrested people.
The arrested people have been brought to police stations for investigation, he added.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up at government buildings and key locations, while additional forces have been deployed in the Cantt areas.
