KARACHI, Feb 25 : Security officials in a joint raid with police in Banaras area of Karachi have arrested a key commander of outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Swat.
Sources said that on a secret information about the presence of key extremist commander, sensitive agencies and police jointly conducted a raid in Banaras area and apprehended a key TTP commander.
“Arms and explosives have been recovered from his possession,” official sources said the identity of the detained TTP commander is not being released for security reasons.
According to sources, the suspect is involved in blasting educational institutions in Swat, ransacking government property and attacks on the caravans of law enforcement agencies.
The detained TTP leader has been shifted to an unknown place for further investigation.
