IOF troops raid northern Gaza, round up 23 Palestinians within 24 hours in WB

GAZA, - Israeli occupation forces (IOF) mounting armored vehicles escorted bulldozers into northern Gaza Strip areas where they combed and bulldozed cultivated land at dawn Wednesday, local sources told the PIC reporter.

The IOF soldiers have recently intensified their incursions into eastern and northern areas of the Strip that are usually coupled with random shooting and bulldozing of land.

The Hebrew radio reported on Wednesday that 10 Palestinians were detained at dawn Wednesday in the districts of Bethlehem, Ramallah, Jenin and Tulkarem.

Local sources said that six were detained in Bethlehem following an incursion into Doheisha refugee camp amidst intensified shooting to terrorize the inhabitants.

The IOF troops on Tuesday rounded up 13 Palestinians in various West Bank areas including 5 in Al-Khalil late at night, two of them work as cameramen for AP and AFP and were arrested for taking shots of the Ibrahimi Mosque.

IOF raided Far'ea refugee camp in Nablus and detained two brothers after storming tens of houses. The soldiers broke the locks of many shops and searched them in the absence of their owners, locals reported.

They also kidnapped four citizens in Burin village, southeast of Nablus, including three brothers.

IOF troops roamed the streets of many other West Bank villages and detained young men at roadblocks.

The escalation falls at a time the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) was trying to beautify its image in the world, the Islam online website said on Tuesday.

It said that the propaganda campaign was launched in the wake of growing hostile feelings against the IOA for its brutal crimes during the war on Gaza last year and recently for its involvement in the assassination of a Hamas leader using forged European passports.
