PESHAWAR, Feb 17: The Chief Minister NWFP Ameer Haidar Khan Hoti has approved a package worth 2 crore rupees for capacity building of Prisons’ Department and betterment in conditions of prisons.
He also announced provision of one crore rupees from his personal fund for fulfillment of urgent needs of prisons and provision of honorarium equal to one month salary for all staff of the department.
He takes this decision in a high level meeting held at CM Secretariat on Wednesday in light of recommendations of committee under ACS Home formed for this purpose. Other members of the committee included; Secretaries of Finance, Industry, Education and Health, IG Prisons and representatives of Planning and development and police. IG Prisons Tanvirul Haq Sapra presented a detailed briefing regarding performance, capacity, conditions and needs of the department.
