US missile strike kills 3 people in northwest Pakistan

Mir Ali: Pakistani intelligence officials say a US missile strike struck a car carrying suspected militants in a northwestern Pakistan on Friday, killing three men. It was the second such attack in the last 12 hours.

A US drone missile strike late Thursday also killed three people in the same region.

The latest attack happened in Mir Ali, which is the main town in North Waziristan tribal region, said the officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly to the media.

Meanwhile, a roadside bomb explosion in the Bajur tribal region has killed five passers-by, said Nasib Shah, a local government official. The blast went off in Khar, the main town in Bajur.
